“Manny could only move in one direction (when they fought),”Roach told ace fight scribe Ron Borges of the Sweet Science. After facing and fighting as feathers in 126-pounds and super-feathers in 130-pounds, in November Pacquiao and Marquez are fighting a catch weight of 144-pounds. They believe that the weight is a big factor in knowing the winner considering that while Pacquiao has gotten better consistently improving and reigning through all the years, while Marquez has been slipping a bit. Actually when Marquez face Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a welterweight division, he is miserable and cannot cope up with Mayweather and he doesn’t have the speed and the power to turn any round for him. And that’s why he (Marquez) lost in a unanimous decision. Roach said “Marquez is a difficult fighter (to deal with) Very skilled. Very steady. Very resourceful. But my fighter is better now than he was then.” And also the old Sugar Shane Mosley compared Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr. in terms to punching power and level. “Pacquiao hits harder,” Mosley told comedian-television host George Lopez during his appearance on TBS’ Lopez Tonight. Pacquiao dropped Sugar Shane Mosley in the early round three last May 7 in their fight, said that he (Pacquiao) amaze the Filipino, because he releases many punches. Long range or short range the power of his punch is always there, Mosley said. “It’s more on his punch. He doesn’t punch from far back, he punches form right there and it’s hard.” Mosley, a multi-titled champion in 3 different weight classes, fought Pacquiao and Mayweather. But unfortunately for him he loss to Manny Pacquiao, Mosley wasn’t able to knocked down in his loss to Mayweather. “Mayweather is a good defensive fighter and it’s kinda hard to find him. (He’s) real defensive,” Mosley added. When asked to pick a winner between Pacquiao and Mayweather, he answered “I really don’t know. I think Mayweather can outpoint him. There’s a 50-50 chance that we won’t get hit,” “If he gets hit then there’ll be some problems.” “I couldn’t bet on that fight….I wouldn’t bet on that fight,” Mosley added. If Pacquiao and Mayweather fight will happen and negotiated that battle between them will be the biggest money fight in boxing history. But still this fight will not able to happen due to some reasons and declined of Mayweather against Manny Pacquiao. It is reported that Pacquiao offers $50 million, but Mayweather declined it and out priced himself demanding $100 million.
Roach said training camp for Pacquiao vs. Marquez clash will start in September and the 51-year-old corner man wouldn’t mind packing his bags to camp out in Baguio City for the third time. Pacquiao consistently fight 3 consecutive tough fights in almost every year. What people are expected is a good, exciting and toughest fight of Manny Pacquiao. But his last fight was not good enough to get the attention and the excitement of the viewers of the fight last May 7 with Sugar Shane Mosley, if this continues, Pacquiao fans will definitely will be bored at him and may look for a boxers wherein can show the excitement and toughest fight that they ever wanted.
